Guide to Arriving at Ndera Hospital

We welcome you to Ndera Neuropsychiatric Teaching Hospital, the only referral hospital in Rwanda specialized in neurological and psychiatric disorders. Patient Billing

We are committed to providing excellent mental healthcare services and improving the lives of the patients with psychiatric and neurological conditions. Ndera Neuropsychiatric Teaching Hospital accepts different health insurance schemes, including Community Based Health Insurance (Mutuelle de santé). However, some of the services, such as private hospitalization ward, do not accept the insurance.

We work with the patient and their family to agree on the most cost-efficient care that meets clinical needs. For any question about billing, please contact +250 788 554 276.

Health Insurance

The Hospital accepts different health insurance schemes, which include:  CBHI (Mutuelle de Santé), RAMA, MMI, MIS-UR, UAP, MIS-RBA and BRITAM.

Visiting

The family members and friends are allowed to visit the patients in inpatient programme at Ndera Hospital. Before deciding a visit to your loved one or friend at the hospital, please contact the Social Service at: (+250) 785 647 059, to know the hours you are allowed to visit.

Directions

The Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital is located in Nezerwa Village, Kibenga Cell, Ndera Sector, Gasabo District, City of Kigali, 17 kilometres from Kigali City Centre, and 2 kilometres from Kigali-Rusumo road. Icyizere Psychotherapeutic Center is located in Niboye Cell, Niboye Sector, Kicukiro District, on KK357 Street. CARAES Butare is located in Kabutare Village, Butare Cell, Ngoma Sector, Huye District.

Canteen

The canteen, which provides different items for purchase is located inside the main hospital, next to logistics office. The canteen is open seven days a week, from 6:40am-7:00pm. It serves food and drinks to staff and visitors at a good price. The patient’s family or friends can pay for tea, snacks or juice, among others, to be served to the patient on a daily basis for a specific period of time.
